5 Ways to Shut Down Self Doubt So You Can Achieve Success

If you want to be successful, you probably have lots of great and exciting ideas and plans.

Perhaps you want to get a new job, or start a new relationship. Maybe you want to start a new business. You start off with lots of ambition, excitement, ideas, and then the nagging, negative self doubting thoughts always seem to show up to shake your confidence and even stop you dead in your tracks.

Maybe you find yourself starting new things and projects with lots of excitement, and then getting bogged down and stuck and giving up every time, as your mind fills with all the reasons why you cannot succeed and all the what if disastrous scenarios and complications you might encounter.

You start to wonder if there is something wrong with you. Why can’t you ever finish anything? It must mean you are a loser or a failure. You start to feel more and more stuck and negative about yourself.

You are definitely not alone. Our tendency to self doubt is what I call a human default belief. Many people ask where does this self-doubt come from? How do we overcome self doubt and fear?

First we have understand where this self doubt and fear originates. The truth is we are hardwired to doubt ourselves, as part of our primitive survival system. Fortunately though, we also have the ability to override that default when we understand that we control our thoughts and beliefs not the other way around.

We must take control of our thoughts and beliefs, and we can, if we want to achieve the success we want and deserve.

We cannot have both self doubt and self belief at the same time, because the human mind literally cannot process two conflicting beliefs. They will cancel each other out. That is why we so often get stuck when we are trying to succeed.

We try to do both self doubt and self belief and because the mind cannot handle both, we get nothing but stuck. What if you could shut down that self doubting voice? You can, and when you do, you will start to see and experience the success you dream of and know you deserve.

Just take a second and imagine what you could accomplish without that self doubt getting in the way!

1) Write down your self doubting thoughts and consciously, deliberately refute every single one with a new thought about how you can and you will succeed.

2) Give your self doubt a ridiculous name and a cartoon voice. Notice how silly it is and sounds.

3) Imagine your thoughts as two dials and urn down the volume on the self doubt turn your thoughts of self trust, success and excitement all the way up.

4) Understand that what you focus on is what you get. Focus on your success not on your doubts.

5) Own your success. Know it. If you believe in yourself everyone else will too. If you own it, they will buy it. If you lead, they will follow, It is crucial to your success that you understand the power of your thoughts. You make your beliefs and your beliefs make you.
